Understanding Gateway Part Numbers (PN)

In the picture shown, the highlighted code is the Gateway Machine Part Number (PN). This number is unique to the entire laptop configuration, not the screen itself. Each PN can be used to look up the machine's original specifications, which are tied specifically to that laptop.

Understanding Gateway Part Numbers

However, for accurate screen replacements, the machine PN alone is not enough. What we need is the screen part number, which is printed directly on the screen's label.

  • Machine Part Number (PN) Found on the laptop label (as highlighted in the picture). Identifies the full laptop and its original configuration. Useful for verifying specifications and cross-checking model details.
  • Screen Part Number Printed directly on the screen label. This is the exact identifier required for screen replacement. Not the same as the machine PN.
  • Cross-Reference Tool The machine PN helps verify the overall specifications. The screen PN ensures an exact replacement match. Both are important to guarantee compatibility.
