How do I take the correct photo of my laptop screen using a foot ruler?

To verify your screen properly, we need a full photo of the entire screen with a foot ruler, not just the part number or a close-up of the connector. A complete photo helps us confirm:

  • Part Number (PN)
  • Connector type
  • Connector position
  • Width and height
  • Mounting layout
  • Shape of the connector area

To take the correct photo, follow these steps:

  1. Lay the screen flat on a table with good lighting.
  2. Place a clear foot ruler across the bottom edge of the screen (just like the sample images).
  3. Make sure the photo shows the entire screen from left to right, with the ruler fully visible.
  4. Include the part number label, the connector, and the connector area shape all in the same picture.
  5. Take the photo straight from above — avoid angles so the measurements are easy to read.
  6. If needed, take one close-up photo of the connector with the ruler for exact connector width.

Your photos should look similar to our sample references — showing the whole panel, the full ruler, and the connector area clearly.

This helps us confirm compatibility quickly and prevents delays or sending the wrong screen.
