Finding Machine's Serial Number (Windows OS)

If the bottom label is missing or unreadable, you can find your serial number directly in Windows:

  1. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run window.
  2. Type cmd and press Enter.
  3. In the black Command Prompt window, type wmic bios get serialnumber and press Enter.
  4. You'll see your laptop's serial number displayed below the command.
  5. You can copy it or take a screenshot to send it to our team.

Finding Machine's Serial Number (macOS)

  1. Click the Apple Menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Choose About This Mac.
  3. The Serial Number will appear on the overview screen.
  4. You can also click System Report for detailed info.

If the Mac doesn't power on, flip it over — the serial number or EMC number is laser-etched on the bottom case.

Where to Find Model / Serial Numbers by Brand

Dell (Laptops)

  • Look for a Service Tag or Express Service Code sticker on the bottom or under the battery.
  • Format: 7 characters (letters & numbers).
  • You can also press F2 at startup to open BIOS — the Service Tag will be shown there.

Dell (All-in-One Desktops)

  • The label is located on the back of the monitor stand, base, or rear panel.
  • Format: 7 characters.
  • You can also find it in BIOS (press F2 when booting).

Lenovo

  • Found on a label at the bottom or back of the laptop.
  • Serial Number (S/N): usually 7–8 characters.
  • Shortcut: Press Fn + Esc to display it on screen.

Acer

  • Located on a sticker at the bottom.
  • Possible formats:
    • SNID – 11 digits
    • Serial Number – up to 22 characters.

Asus

  • Found on the bottom panel or on the original box.
  • Serial Number (S/N): 12–15 alphanumeric characters.

Samsung

  • You can provide either Model Number or Serial Number.
  • Both are printed on the bottom panel or inside the battery compartment.
  • Example: Model NP930QDB-KF2US or S/N (15 characters).

HP

  • Look for the Service Tag label on the bottom.
  • It shows both the Product ID and the Serial Number (S/N).
  • Shortcut: Press Fn + Esc to open system information.

Microsoft (Surface Devices)

  • Model Number – printed on the bottom edge (Surface Laptop) or under the kickstand (Surface Pro/Go).
  • Serial Number – in the same locations or under Settings → System → About.

Apple (MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro)

  • Serial Number – on the bottom casing or under Apple Menu → About This Mac → System Report.
  • EMC Number – printed in small text underneath (e.g., EMC 3456).
  • You can also provide the Year & Model, for example: MacBook Pro 13-inch 2019.

MSI

  • We need the full and exact model name (not just the serial).
  • Example: MSI GS66 Stealth 10SE-442US.
  • Printed on the bottom sticker or on the original box.

XPG Laptop

  • The serial number can be found on the warranty sticker or laser printing on the main body surface.
  • Examples of Serial Numbers: MRKC13600D1E (Kit SN), MRBC12301A8B (SN), 4M0980011978 (SN).
